Words and Books

As
I've mentioned before, I'm a
goer and a doer. I'll be travelling as long as my legs will carry me.
Business
used to take me to England and to South-east Asia and Indonesia, then I
became
fascinated with the Middle East, travelling
through Egypt, Syria and
Jordan. China
enticed me. Dear friends acquainted me with Israel, a trip
I will
always
remember with great affection, others led me to Canada, and relatives
to the
US. I've found Fiji, Vanuatu, Hawaii, and dear New Zealand. Of course,
Scotland has my roots, and therefore my
heart. Then there was Paris, Rome and
Athens. My
trips now take me through Dubai and the UAE... to
Greece which draws me
as if I
lived there in a past life…
Over many years I
have
sought adventure, culture and new horizons in Greece, depending on the
whim of
the moment and the temper of the Gods. I've climbed, swum, hiked and
done
nothing successfully, in very picturesque surroundings and with lovely
people. Greece is not a pretty country - rather it's stunning and
sometimes awesome, and always fascinating. It's rugged, with some
mountains so high the clouds stick to their shanks like skirts. From
pallet-box blue seas, dry rocky islands rear up like dragon's teeth.
Tiny towns like spilt sugar cubes, cling precariously, scatter across,
spill down, or cower between, grim gray mountains...
Here
are my books on Greece...
GREECE -
100 Travel Tips - E Book
Planning a holiday to Greece? A travel guide for
everything you
need to know before you go!
This book is a down-to-earth guide to Greece for independent
travellers. It discusses when to go, what to expect, luggage,
transportation, the traditions, food, accommodation. It considers the
people themselves, island-hopping, the ancient sites, outdoor
activities, and shopping. My love of the country comes through the dos
and don'ts, cans and can'ts. Even if all you want to do is veg-out in
peace under the Mediterranean sun, you still need to check this book.

THE GREEK CONNECTION - E Book
A Novella - Eight short stories with a link to Greece -
Contemporary women's fiction with romance, humour and a little bit of
drama.
Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, is watching over the characters in the “The
Greek Connection”. How is Greece responsible for Maria’s heritage, Jo’s
choice, Amanda’s fulfillment, Charles’s dilemma, Anna’s decision, and
Bella’s cooking paranoia? Does a visit to Crete bring Gramps closure?
And will a return to 1650BC on Santorini result in love? You’ll enjoy
finding out when you read these eight stories. (And "Marigold's
Luck" and "One Greek Summer" are brought together for a fun ending.)

Newspaper
Article:
Ancient Charms for the
Young-at-heart
This is my article which appeared in the
Australian
newspapers recently – Brisbane Sunday Mail, Sydney
Sunday Telegraph, and Melbourne Sunday Herald-Sun.
I was asked by the Editor to provide 1200 words on
why Seniors should travel to Greece, and of course this
was right up my alley, so to speak. I’ve also been able
to put into words some of my own reasons for travelling
to this lovely country.
Unfortunately there is no web link to it, so I’ve
taken some pics of the article itself which you can print
out if you wish. I do hope you can read it because news
-print doesn’t photograph all that well! If not you can

excellent beaches, good
hikes, and can suggest best Budget accommodations or top-of-the-range
resorts.
